Fishing Aug 7
Well we left around 4:15 on Friday to head up fishing. After reading the fishing report they talked about people catching fishing over by the new marina, Scorpion Bay. We decided to give it a shot. After about an hour, Teresa's pole bent over like no rod I have ever seen. She was reeling in what appeared to be a lunker. After several minutes her line snapped and the thrill was over. We never did get to see what it was but my guess would be a rather large striper.
When the bite would slow down we'd talking about leaving and then all of a sudden we'd both have a fish. We thru back a lot of little but caught at least 25, we lost track.
As the night went on, it started getting very cool. Well Teresa had on sweats and a sweatshirt if that tells you anything. Being on the water and night under the full moon is very beautiful. We had a great time.

Well as you can see by these pictures.....we can all tell which rig belongs to the retirees! Yes, my parents really rough it when they go camping. While we were away at the Out of Africa park I got a call that the strong winds weren't kind to my canopy. Bobby and I left the park a little early and went back to put both canopies up so that they wouldn't get damaged. Thanks for your help Bobby!

Spring Break Camping
While on spring break we took a trip to the Out of Africa Park in Camp Verde. Bobby got up close and personal with giraffe....too personal! Maybe he was the only one who was brave enough to have the giraffe take food from his mouth.

Falcon Golf Club
Eileen and I played golf at the Falcon Golf Club...nice course and cheap! We all like cheap right? After 9 holes we were dead even. If you know both of us we are highly competitive so it was game on on the back 9. As we waited to tee off on the 18th hole, I counted up the score and again...dead even. The pressure was on! Eileen teed off first and looked like her ball was headed right for the water hazard on the right. I thought no problem...oops...my ball was headed for the same water. As we got up there, Eileen's ball was stopped by a bush (go figure) and was right at the waters edge. Mine was about 5 feet from going in...but it didn't. We both hit our second shots when over the loud speaker we hear, ALL GOLFERS RETURN TO THE CLUB HOUSE IMMEDIATELY. So we never got to finish the hole but I will say, my shot was closer to the pin than Eileen's. Should I be declared the winner?

Kajikawa Classic
A shaky slow start cost the second-ranked Sun Devil Softball squad Sunday afternoon as they wrapped their 2009 opening weekend and the Kajikawa Classic with a tough 7-4 loss to the UTEP Miners. Kaitlin Cochran went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, but the effort wasn’t enough as ASU fell in their first loss of the season to put their record a 5-1 overall.

Feeding the Horses
Yesterday I took my mom up to see Jen's horses. They were happy to see us but I think it's because we had lots of apples and carrots to give them. I guess I'd be happy too...something to eat other than hay! When Jen gets back from her trip, we're gonna get mom up on the horse for a ride. She was a little concerned about being able to get up there with her knee and all but I think we'll put a little step ladder so she can stand on the back of my tailgate and then she can get on. Hey mom...don't feel bad, I still need a little boost from Jen once in a while myself!

Lazy Day
Woke up early this morning and what a nice surprise....IT'S RAINING! Thelma enjoys her daily fun of fetching bows. Louise is a little camera shy or maybe it's the bright flash she doesn't like. In any case we played for a bit and then we all took a cat nap....literaly!
