Horseback Ride

This morning I was up at 4:00am to go for a ride. Rose's friend Jen was nice enough to let me ride with her. I'm such a rookie but she was a real trooper. The first 5 minutes my horse (Tasha) decided she was going to be the boss. Jen showed me how to fix that in a hurry, then we were on our way. We rode for about 2.5 hours (my butt will tell you different!)

We did have a little excitement when Sinji (Jen's dog) decided she was going to chase a coyote. Sinji does kind of resemble one so maybe the coyote was a little confused. Once it looked like the coyote was giving up, Sinji started to come back and the coyote started chasing her. Jen finally had to go after the coyote with her horse....yes while I just sat there praying that Tasha would not follow suit. We rode about half way up the mountain and what a view! Since I keep my eyes facing forward the whole time, I had no idea what it would look like behind me. It was truly amazing!

There was a 5 month old pony at the stalls where Jen keeps her horse so while Jen shoveled (you know) I was playing with the pony. I had a great time and looking forward to going again. Maybe I'll even be brave enough to chase off a coyote!!!

Yes, that sounds scary! Other than that, looks like a fun ride! I bet you will be feeling it tomorrow! I mean your rear, that is!

We have learned from our jeeping experiences that sometimes the view behind you is the best!
