Night Fishing

Jen 1
Eileen 0
Teresa 0

The only fish they saw was mine and the ones on the fish finder.

Not quite sure Eileen liked the actual "fishing" part of the trip but being from NY I know she enjoyed the cooler weather! Maybe next time she'll catch fish!

This past Saturday we decided to do a little night fishing. The weather was great...nice and cool! I have to say all the years I've been going to Lake Pleasant, I've never seen the weather turn from perfect to windy and rainy. It didn't last long...typical monsoon storm.

I caught the first and ONLY fish the whole night.

Teresa thought she hooked the big one only to discover she snagged Eileen's line.

Horseback Ride

This morning I was up at 4:00am to go for a ride. Rose's friend Jen was nice enough to let me ride with her. I'm such a rookie but she was a real trooper. The first 5 minutes my horse (Tasha) decided she was going to be the boss. Jen showed me how to fix that in a hurry, then we were on our way. We rode for about 2.5 hours (my butt will tell you different!)

We did have a little excitement when Sinji (Jen's dog) decided she was going to chase a coyote. Sinji does kind of resemble one so maybe the coyote was a little confused. Once it looked like the coyote was giving up, Sinji started to come back and the coyote started chasing her. Jen finally had to go after the coyote with her horse....yes while I just sat there praying that Tasha would not follow suit. We rode about half way up the mountain and what a view! Since I keep my eyes facing forward the whole time, I had no idea what it would look like behind me. It was truly amazing!

There was a 5 month old pony at the stalls where Jen keeps her horse so while Jen shoveled (you know) I was playing with the pony. I had a great time and looking forward to going again. Maybe I'll even be brave enough to chase off a coyote!!!

August Monsoon Storm

A Day at the Zoo

I did go into the reptile building but thought I'd spare my mother from nightmares if she looked at the pictures! Mom, your welcome!

This little guy was having a very bad hair day!

This is the 3rd time I've been to the Wild Life Zoo. It keeps getting bigger every time. I was looking forward to seeing the new Aquarium but it was finished yet. I guess it will give me a good excuse to go back.

If you look close, there is a new baby monkey. I stood there for a good 20 min watching as it tried to mimic what the mother and father were doing. He's still learning that's for sure!

Colorado 2008

This year our family vacation was in South Fork Colorado. It was a great week. It didn't start out too good....we were about 10 miles south of Flagstaff when Erika (Serena's friend) decided she wanted to launch her McDonalds breakfast all over the back seat! If any of you know me....I didn't do so well. Trying to clean it up the best we could, I almost lost my breakfast! My gag reflexes aren't the best! We finally got back on the road and caught up to Amy and Bobby. Several miles outside of Durango a tire blew on the trailer. We finally made it to South Fork without any other excitement.
